Me and My Legend with Mimi
Hi there, Mimi here. I can’t believe it’s December and the New Year will be upon us soon! I’ve got two Lunar New Year cards to share featuring the new Me And My Legend stamp set.
For my first card, I started with the Midnight Cover Creative Cuts. I ink blended the frame with Milled Lavender, Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink. I, then, spritzed the inner circle piece with Flickering Candle Distress Mica Stain for an added shine. I added a white card under the frame for the stars to show through. I also die cut some clouds and stars from the same die set and inked the edges with a Copic marker.
I stamped, colored and die cut the images from Me and My Legends. I added the lanterns from Sakura Lanterns Creative Cuts.
I use the sentiment from the New Beginnings set. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. For more sparkles, I added Diamond Stickles to the stars and used a sparkling pen to line the clouds and lanterns.
For my second card, I wanted to create a dragon dance with little kiddies holding up the dragon. I used the new Knot of Luck Creative Cuts for this. I die cute the Knot of Luck frame from 110lbs white cardstock, masked the outer part and ink blended/ink splattered the oval with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink. I placed a piece of red cardstock under the white panel so the decorative edges show through.
I used the little kiddies from the Lion Dance set. I placed the kids around the dragon and trimmed the lantern from the boys holding the lantern image so it looks like they are holding up the dragon with poles. I also used the ‘Blessed’ image and ballon string (for a pole) from the Zodiac Dragon set.
I finished off the card with sentiments from the New Beginnings set. Thanks for stopping by!
