Around The Campfire with Mimi
Hi there, Mimi here sharing a fun slimline card featuring the new Around The Campfire stamp set and a super cute camper I created to go with the scene.
I started with two Slim Window Dressing CC scalloped frames. I like the white border around my cards so I masked off the edges before I ink blended. With the first scalloped frame, I took the mountain dies from Slim Highlands CC and used it as my mountain stencil. I inked blended the mountains with Pumice Stone distress oxide ink and the sky with Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink. With the second scalloped frame, I die cut 1/3 of the frame with the straight grass die (included in the Slim Window Dressing CC set). I ink blended the top half grass border with Cracked Pistachio distress oxide ink and the bottom part with Ground Espresso distress oxide ink. I set that aside for later.
I stamped, colored and die cut the all my images from the following stamp sets: Around The Campfire, Toasty Friends, Merrygrams AEIOUY (mini tree), Fa La La (lantern)
To make the little camper, I used the Little Agenda Bus and Hey Neighbor stamp set. I first stamped the small bus from Little Agenda Bus onto a masking sheet to create a mask for the parts of the bus I don’t need. I stamped and masked off the right wheel and the middle widow. I used the door and awning from the Hey Neighbor. I also stamped on a masking sheet, created a mask and stamped on the door onto the small bus. With the awning, I masked, stamped, colored and trimmed the image. I used foam tape to add a little dimension. I also added the mini critters from t he set. Lastly, I used the mailbox pole from Incoming Mail to create the camper leg.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment from Storybook Sayings and added some diamond stickles to the campfire and lantern for some added sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my card and my little Mama Elephant camper creation! See you next time!
