We Ride with Mimi
Hi there, it’s Mimi back on the blog today. I’ve got a happy card to share featuring the new We Ride stamp set with its coordinating Creative Cuts. These Mama Elephant friends are so adorable in their cute cars! The cars reminded me of an amusement park driving ride so I converted the cars into bumper cars to create a fun bumper car ride.
Let’s start with how I created the bumper cars. First, to make the bumper part of the car, I used the mini inflatable pool from Summer Floaties stamp set. I masked off the top part of the mini inflatable pool and stamped the bottom part onto 80lbs white cardstock. I, then masked the stamped part of the inflatable pool and stamped the car on top, using the MYSTI tool to align them.
I did this four times, one for each car. I also stamped flags for each car. I colored the images with Copic markers and then die cut them all with it’s coordinating dies. I glued the colored flags to each car.
To create the small track, I lightly ink blended a 5.5” x 4.25” white panel cardstock with Black Soot distress oxide ink. I also die cut some swirl dashes onto the panel with the new Spring In the Air Creative Cuts. Next, I die cut the Into the Night Creative Cuts frame from 80lbs white cardstock and placed it on top of the ink blended panel.
I assembled the bumper cars onto the small track. I stamped some accents around the cars to create movement and bumping. The accents are from Arctic Penguin stamp set.
I wanted to decorate the card a little bit more so I added some banners from the new Tree Hugging Creative Cuts and trio of balloons from the same We Ride set. Lastly, I added the sentiment “Wishing you a day filled with fun and joy” from A Capybara Party stamp set.
The card is finished. The Mama Elephant friends are enjoying themselves driving and bumping into each other in this bumper car ride! Thanks for stopping by!
