We Ride with Jenn

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing an interactive spinning card featuring We Ride! This set reminded me of bumper cars and I wanted to create a card that played on that idea.
For purposes of this tutorial, I cut out the pieces you will need in different colors so you can see how I assembled the spinning mechanism. It is actually quite simple and you only need circle dies and a round foam dot.
I created the spinning base and smaller circle for the sentiment using Caly Circle Lace. In the larger circle, I cut a small hole in the center that was large enough (but not too large!) to fit the round foam dot. The foam dot is placed in the center of another small circle--this will serve as the anchor point for the mechanism and lift the main circle off the cardbase so it can spin freely.
For my card, I used patterned paper to decorate the cardbase first. I stamped a sentiment from Make It Merry on the small circle. Then I started assembling the mechanism.
First, adhere the circle with foam dot in the center of the 5" x 5" cardbase.
Then place the main circle on top (do not glue it down).
Finally, remove the paper on the foam dot and adhere the smaller sentiment circle on the top of the foam dot.
I used a double layer of foam dots to glue the images onto the main circle so that they would not hit the smaller sentiment circle as they spin.
I stamped a sentiment from We Ride on the inside and that finished up the card! Thank you for stopping by today! Happy crafting! ~Jenn
