Summer Floaties with Jenn
Hello there crafty friends! Are you ready for summer yet? The new Summer Floaties set is getting me excited for summer to start!
I wanted to create an interactive poolside scene and started by stamping and coloring all of the images I needed for my scene. Along with the Summer Floaties images, I used Little Agenda Ice Cream, Painting Piggies (stool and sunscreen), Little Pig Agenda, and Little Edibles (drink). The towel is cut from some patterned paper from my stash.
To create the background, I ink blended a bright sunshine-y sky with Distress Oxides (squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, spiced marmalade) and used a stencil to add sun rays with white pigment ink. For the pool deck, I drew it by hand using a Copic fineliner pen and lightly ink blended lost shadow Distress Ink. The edge of the pool is cut from the Plain Rectangle Frames.
For the pool water, I ink blended Distress oxides (salvaged patina, tumbled glass, mermaid lagoon) and splattered it with water and liquid stardust. I cut the front water panel from Ocean Waves Trio. Next, I assembled the mechanism for the Slider Glider (check out this *ME YouTube video* for assembly instructions). Since I wanted the two images to come towards each other, I adhered the second plastic strip to the back loop (instead of the front side on the pull tab). I also stamped the word PULL from Mini Everyday Messages onto the end of the pull tab.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto the front water panel-- anyone else get really nervous stamping directly on a finished background?!-- and glued everything together.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a lovely weekend and happy crafting! ~Jenn
