Pond Scene with Mimi
Pond Scene with Mimi Hello crafty friends! I hope you all are enjoying the February release because I have another fabulous frog themed card for you! I started off with the Slim Window Dressing Creative Cuts frame. I mask the edges off because I like the look of the white border. I ink blended the bottom half with distress oxide ink Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peacock Feathers and the top half with Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade.
I used the Grass Duo Creative Cuts and the Pond Scene Creative Cuts to create the pond. I die cut the grass and the big pond piece 4x. I ink blended and ink splattered the grass and two of the pond pieces with distress oxide ink Lucky Clover and Rustic Wilderness. I ink blended the other two with distress oxide ink Ground Espresso.
I layered each green piece over the brown for some dimension. I used the tree from Evergreen Tree Creative Cuts, ink blended with Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness and Ground Espresso. I also die cut some rocks from Pond Scene Creative Cuts, colored with Copic markers. I stamped, die cut and colored all images with Copic markers. The sun, the background trees and clouds are from A Better Place, little frogs from Little Frog Agenda and the fishes, bunny and fishing bear from Ice Fishing. I masked off the present from the fishing pole and added a heart from Boba Tea. I also used the cattail from Hello Froggy.
Next, I started to assemble the card. I wanted some fishes to look like they are underwater, so I layered a sheet of vellum on top of the ink blended blue water. I made some slits on the vellum and slipped parts of the rocks, cattail, frog and fish through so it looks like they are above the water. I added some white line accents with a white gel pen. I placed the bunny leaning against the tree trunk with the froggy leaping off his hand and the bear sitting on the rock fishing.
Lastly, I white heat embossed the sentiment from A Better Place. I hope you enjoyed my pond scene and thanks for stopping by!
