Penguins Go Skating with Jennifer

I chose to realize a clean and simple slimline card, using the mirror stamping technique on a grey card stock.
I die cut the card stock using the ME Slim Window Dressing Creative Cuts. I stamped the penguin with a no-line ink and then I colored it with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers. After that I stamped the mirror image using the same ink and I colored it using slightly lighter colors, to have a more delicate effect. I realized the ice with a white pastel pencil and the snowflakes with a white gel pen.

I tried to comment on this amazing card when I received it via Mama Elephant email. It wouldn’t allow me to comment, saying “comments are restricted to team members”. Why??? Jennifer’s card is so amazing that I kept searching until I could find something that would accept my comment.
Jennifer: I love your card!! It’s so fun & I can’t stop looking at all the details. You did an amazing job with the reverse stamping, the ice and including the “joy” into the overall scene. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity!

I love this card… I have this stamp set and I adore it. The way you put this all together, it really looks like he’s skating on ice and I love the mirrored image. WOW!! How do you do the mirror stamping technique… is there a tutorial somewhere?

Such simplicity and beauty! What an idea. A white pencil to make ice. Ingenious!
