Open Sesame Landscape with Mimi
Hi everyone, Mimi here with another project to share!
The new Open Sesame Landscape die gave me an idea to use it as a cabinet, so I decided to create an interactive mini fridge cabinet scene card. You can open the mini fridge door that is fully stocked with the Bibimbap soju bottles and you can open the cabinet door for another fun surprise!
Lets get started in creating the cabinet. I first die cut the Open Sesame Landscape die twice, one with 80lb and one with 110 lb white cardstock. I didn’t want the stitches and scalloped edges so I die cut it off with a B2B rectangle die that worked perfectly. I did this to both of the 80lb and 110lb die cut.
Next, I trimmed off both doors from the 110lb die so that it would just leave me with a frame, which I adhere under the 80lb die for stability.
I place a 3 5/8” x 1/4” white strip down the middle.
For the mini fridge part, I die cut the door frame and window panel part of the Open Sesame landscape from colored cardstock. I used a shine gray cardstock. I trimmed off the door frame part. I cut a piece of acetate to the same size of the door. I then glued the gray cardstock door frame to the acetate and then to door piece of the 80lb die.
For the inside, I trimmed off the inside part of the window panel to make a shelf frame. I adhered it to a piece of black cardstock and placed the colored soju bottles inside.
For the left side cabinet door, I die cut and trimmed another door frame from white cardstock. I also die cut the smallest framed rectangle from Plain Rectangle Frames. I adhered the trimmed door frame and framed rectangle onto a piece of white cardstock and then to the door piece of the 80lb die, to create the front decorative door panel. Next, I ink blended hickory smoke distress oxide ink onto a piece of white cardstock, placed a 1 1/4”x 1/8” white strip for a shelf, stamped sentiments and added the cups/spicy paste box images to fit inside.
To put the whole card together, I trimmed a 5.5” x 4.5” back panel and adhered two different pattern papers, one 5.5” x 3 5/8” and another 5.5” x 1”. I glued the cabinet to the pattern paper panel and placed a 5.5” x 1/4” gray strip to the top edge of the cabinet to create a ‘counter top’
I used the little cow with bottles from Little Cow Agenda. I turned the bottles into soju bottles and dded a mini strawberry to match the larger soju bottles. I added some cups, succulents, and books onto the counter top to finish the card.
