My Lucky Unicorn with Mimi
Hi there, Mimi back on the blog today with a card featuring the new My Lucky Unicorn stamp set and the Sherbet Awning from April’s release! When I saw these adorable unicorns, I wanted to make a cute mini carousel with them. Let's get started on how I created it!!

First, I die cut a 5 1/2” x 4 1/4” white card base from B2B Rectangles. I ink blended and ink splattered the middle part with Milled Lavender distress oxide ink. I also spritz some water to soften the color. I set the card base aside for later.

The images I used are from a couple of different stamp sets. I stamped, colored and die cut the unicorn, girl, cloud, floral and sparkle images from My Lucky Unicorn and Castle in the Sky. I made a slit along one of the lines on the girl’s dress so I can slip the unicorn in between to make it look like she’s sitting on the unicorn. I glued it in place. For the poles, I used the straw from Gingerbread Cookies. I stamped the straw image six times, colored and trimmed them all. I aligned one above and one below each unicorn and adhered it in place.
To make the carousel canopy and base, I used the Sherbet Awning. The awning back was die cut from white cardstock and the awning stripes from pink colored cardstock. I die cut two rectangle bases from white cardstock using the long rectangle die included in the set and trimmed it to the length of the awning. I also die cut some hearts (also included in the set) from white and pink cardstocks. I colored the white hearts in a golden yellow color. On one of the rectangle bases, I added a 1/8” pink strip above the stitching and decorated with hearts and flower.

To assemble the card:
I adhered the white rectangle base onto my ink blended card base and stamped my sentiment below it. For the center pole, I used a 1/2” strip of patterned paper, and glued it vertically in the middle, above the base. I then glued two poled unicorns on each side, saving the unicorn with the girl for later. I added the big cloud image with the castle (trimming off the castle part) from Castle in the Sky and placed it over the poles.
For some dimension, I added 1/8" thick double-sided adhesive foam strips to the decorated base and the girl sitting on the unicorn. I also added foam strips under the awning. I glued down some clouds and sparkles to the front of the awning. I then backed the card with two more layers of cardstock, alternating the pink and white.
Lastly, I wanted some extra sparkle to the card so I applied some Diamond Stickles glitter glue to the unicorn horns, the girl’s dress and head piece and the sparkles. If you wanted to display the card, you can also add a Card Backer to it!
