Market Tulips with Peggy
Hi crafty friends!
Peggy (@peggyemmerink) here with some designer series inspiration for the June release! I saw the beautiful Market Tulips Creative Cuts set in the new release and thought I would go with that! I paired it with the Build a Bouquet stamp set! And I love how the combination turned out!
I'm making a card using the Postcard Combo Creative Cuts set as a background. I love everything postage! And a card filled with beautiful tulips will brighten anyone's day! I started with a quarter inch smaller than a standard sized card base. I layered it with the airmail borders die included in the set. If you layer them over top (flipping one die cut 180 degrees) you get a border with two colors and a white in between. I cut the background for the postcard from a piece of kraft cardstock. For the top panel I cut the postcard die from white cardstock and a piece of patterned paper. I'm not adhering those just yet. I'm creating my scene on it first, because I want to wrap around some twine before adhering the final panel on top.
I colored the airmail borders with copic markers. I adhered them to the card base using a combination of tape runner and liquid glue (to allow for some wiggle room adjusting the positioning of the two airmail border parts). I cut the tulip stems and leaves from green cardstock and the flowers from white copic friendly cardstock.
I'm coloring the tulip parts to create two-tone tulips. I think those are really pretty. Tulips come in so many different color variantions! I used R12, RV29, RV14, RV13 and RV11 copics for this. I adhered all the flower parts with liquid glue. I started by arranging the stems and leaves behind the piece of colored cardstock first. Once I had those down, I stamped the sentiment from Still Smiling on the patterned paper and adhered it over top with foam tape to create some dimension. I wrapped it with some twine, added foam tape to the back and adhered my front panel to the decorated card base.
Lastly I stamped the bunny with the tulips from Build a Bouquet into the stamp die from the Postage Combo Creative Cuts. I colored the image with copic markers and added the stamp to the top right of my card with some foam tape. And that finishes my card! Thanks for reading and have a crafty day!
