Love Yourself, Storytime and Book Club with Mimi
Love Yourself with Mimi Hi friends, Mimi here with a fun and creative project featuring the Love Yourself stamp set, in addition to a few more May release products. I love mini notebooks and when I saw the new Simple Bookmarks Creative Cuts and the book theme release, I wanted to create some Mama Elephant themed mini notebooks!
Supplies:
Mini notebooks
Colored Making tape
Double sided adhesive sheet
80lb white card stock
Masking Paper
Distress Oxide Inks - Milled Lavender, Salvaged Patina
Diamond Stickles
Let’s get started! I purchased some mini notebooks and colored masking tape from my local Daiso store, a Japanese Dollar Store. These mini notebooks are approximately 4” x 5.5”. I measured the dimensions of the top cover (laid flat) and removed the middle binding tape. I cut two pieces of the white cardstock with the same dimensions. I stamped one with the Storytime images and one with Book Club images, few books from Crafted With Love and the heart from Sentiments From A Yeti.
I colored all the images with Copics markers. I die cut the coordinating stamp dies with masking paper. I placed the masking paper over the images and ink blended the Storytime images with Milled Lavender distress oxide ink and the Book Club images with Salvaged Patina distress ink. I really like the way it left a white border around the images! I then, stamped the Love Yourself sentiments.
Next, I used double sided adhesive sheet (same dimensions of the cardstock) to adhere the stamped cardstock over the existing notebook cover. I placed a new middle binding with the colored masking tape. Now you have new cute mini notebooks!
For the bookmarks, I used the new Simple Bookmarks Creative Cuts. I created two small bookmarks. On one, I stamped the fox image from Fa La La, colored, masked and ink blended with Milled Lavender distress oxide ink. I use the butterfly shape die to cut a heart shape in the circle that coordinates with this bookmark. I stamped the sentiments from Love Yourself. Lastly, I added Diamond Stickles to the inside of the heart. With the second bookmark, I stamped the fox from Celebration Candles and I used the zero (masking the candle flame part) for the letter O to spell out LOVE. The letters LVE is from Color Me Letters stamp set. I then stamped the sentiments from Love Yourself. I did the same with the heart shape top.
I also made a Butterfly folded bookmark that I ink blended with Salvaged Patina and stamped with a sentiment. Finally, I added trio of dots to the notebook covers and bookmarks to add a bit of interest. I hope you all enjoyed this cute project!
