Lil Toy Machine with Keeway
Hello! It's Keeway here today bringing you some fun inspiration this Friday with the Lil Toy Machine stamp set! When you were a kid, did you use to spend all your change on these machines? I loooooved these machines!! This set really bring back fun childhood memories.
The first thing I worked on is creating the toy machine with the shaker component. I actually assembled one live in Discord on release night, so you should really join us there, especially during events! I first stamped the toy machine image and colored it in with copic markers. Then, use the coordinating die on it, which will die cut the center out as a window.
Next, you want to use to die to cut the shape a few more times to layer with so that you can create a well for the sequins. I used 4 layers of 110 lb. white card stock here, but you can vary it depending on the thickness of the sequins/items you put in there. Alternatively, you can use thin strips of foam tape, but I do find the cardstock stacking has a much more solid construction.
I filled up the well with some mini balls and iridescent star sequins, along with a few super mini agenda capsules from the set. I cut freehand a small piece of acetate to adhere behind the colored toy machine. This sealed the shaker area to complete the shaker portion of the card.
I ink blended a simple background to give the toy machine a place to sit. I blended the bottom half with Stormy Sky and the top half with Broken China distress oxide inks. The background was die cut using the scallop frame from Slim Window Dressing CC. I heat embossed the sentiment in white in the bottom center. And brought out some Little Bunny Agenda to add some extra fun to this card!
