Holiday Huggers with Peggy
Hi crafty friends!

Happy 11th birthday to Mama Elephant! Peggy (@peggyemmerink) here with a Designer Series card for the BIG Mama Elephant September 2023 release. I love everything about this month’s release, but for my Designer Series project I had to use one of my very favorite sets, which is the Holiday Huggers and coordinating Creative Cuts!

I love both the little critters themselves as well as their accessories included in the stamp set. In this way you can use the critters with many other stamps and have them cling to a variety of objects. Likewise, accessories like the mug and envelope, make a super sweet combination with critters from other sets. Mix and Match!

I combined the cute little dog and cat from the Holiday Huggers stamp set with the Mini Bow Box Creative Cuts. Let me tell you how I made this project!

I started by cutting the box from the Mini Bow Box set from patterned paper. This is a great way to customize your box for your chosen occasion! I used a bone folder to fold the scored lines the die makes and adhered the box with liquid glue.

Next, I cut the ribbons and bows from teal and light grey cardstock and adhered them on top of the boxes. I used some glitter glue for sparkle on the small rim piece of the bows. These boxes are so easy to put together!

The Mini Bow Box also comes with a stitched rectangle die. It is designed to go on top of the box, but I used it to hide a message inside of my boxes instead. This is also the case for the tiny envelope dies that are included in the set. They can be used on top of your box, but I used them in a different way.

I cut two tiny envelopes with my die cutting machine and colored them pink and purple with an ink blending tool. I adhered the envelopes to the stitched rectangles, leaving a pocket for my stamped images.

Next, I stamped the dog and cat from Holiday Huggers and both the right and left facing candy cane. I colored my images with alcohol markers. Feel free to ask me about what colors I used specifically. I finished my images with some white gel pen accents and arranged them in the tiny envelopes.

Lastly, I stamped the words ‘to’ and ‘from’ at the top of the stitched rectangle.

These sweet boxes will make an awesome holiday gift. They will fit a small treat, like shown in the picture. I used candy hearts, but chocolates or candy cane peppermints would be awesome too! But they will also fit a gift card or a written note. Hope you love it as much as I do!
Have a happy crafty day!

Peggy
