Girl Group with Jenn
Hello crafty friends! I am so excited to share with you my The Greatest Showman card that uses the new Boy Band and Girl Group stamps from Mama Elephant! The image from Boy Band of the guy with the long coat reminded me of a ring master and before I knew it, my brain came up with this card haha!
I had to alter the images a bit to make this card. First, I had to erase all of the microphones that the figures were holding because I had to be true to the timeline of the movie... there weren't any mics in PT Barnum's time! So what I did was after inking up the image, I quickly and carefully wiped off the ink from the microphones using a rubbery clay shaping tool. (If you don't have one of those, you can use a very thin tiny eraser or colored pencil blending stump perhaps?) I had to do this several times to get a crisp enough image.
Next, I drew in the missing parts of their faces, and in the case of the bearded lady, I had to draw in her hair accessory and the rest of her dress (I masked off the bottom part of her body). I used a very fine micron pen to draw but after doing so, I didn't like how the ink was darker than the stamping ink. So I ended up tracing over the rest of the images with the pen so everything matched. Then I colored the images with Copic markers.
I used On Stage to create the curtains and crowd. For the ground, I lightly ink blended some off white speckled cardstock from my stash with Distress Ink (vintage photo). I used the same cardstock to create the sentiment on my typewriter and cut the sentiment out with Combo Rectangle. I glued brown twine to Zendaya and Zac Efron's characters and adhered them to the black background. Then I used foam tape to stick the top curtain to hide the ends of the rope.
I hope this inspires you to look at your stamps a bit differently and get creative with them! Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting! ~Jenn
