Counting Left & Right with Jenn
Hello crafty friends! I have a special project to share with you today, a fun customized clock featuring Counting Right and Counting Left! I love it when my cardmaking supplies can be used to make something other than a card!
I have been wanting a cute clock for my craft area so this was the perfect time to make one!
I found a clock from Hobby Lobby that had what I was looking for: 1) numbers that were about the same size as the Counting Left/Right stamps; 2) easy to access clock face; and 3) not expensive. The clock I found already had a design on it, but it was nothing a little sandpaper and four layers of white spray paint couldn't fix!
I created the geometric design onto the clock by laying down strips of washi tape. (Note: actual painters tape works better than washi tape but that's all I had in a skinny width.) I used acrylic paint to paint in the design (see note below in Supplies Used).
While the paint was drying, I stamped and colored the images. I used Lucky Alphas to cut out letters from black cardstock. To assemble everything, I applied Mod Podge to glue on the images and letters. I know that alcohol ink eventually fades so in an attempt to prevent that, I sprayed the clock with a UV resistant coating.
Once everything was dry, I reassembled the clock mechanism and ta da! My clock was done! I hope you enjoyed this project and are inspired to use your supplies in new ways! Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting! ~Jenn
Supplies used:
Counting Left
Counting Right
Lucky Alphas
Krylon white spray paint (Note: I bought this in the satin finish, but I should have gotten matte. The satin finish made it difficult to paint over.)
Krylon UV-Resistant Clear Acrylic Coating
