Birthday Celebration with Mimi

Hi there, it’s Mimi back on the Mama Elephant blog and today I'm sharing some fun ATC inspiration! I made some celebration themed artist trading cards using the new Birthday Celebration and Anniversary Celebration sets from the January Release! I have become a big fan of making these trading cards since Mama Elephant premiered it awhile back. Let's get started!

I used the Artist Trading Card to create these cards. There are two dies in the set, a full panel card and one with frames. First, I used the frame die to die cut 5 outer frames from holographic mirror cardstock (from the Sizzix Opulent Cardstock pack). I always like to use some holographic cardstock with my ATCs because I love the shimmer and shine!

Next, I used the frame die again to die cut 5 inner frames from colored cardstock that I have on hand. I did trim off the strip towards the bottom to give me more of a open space for my images. I also die cut the name title and orb part with white cardstock. For my background, I die cut 5 panel cards from watercolor patterned paper using the full panel card die.

I stamped and colored all my images with Copic markers and then die cut them out. I, then stamped the name title pieces with sentiments from Years Remembered and the orb pieces with images from Birthday Celebration.

For the My Favorite Person card, I used the cute couple from Anniversary Celebration and added a love banner with String of Letters.

For the Forever Us card, I used the other sweet couple from the same set. I added three small bursts from Razzle Dazzle with letters BFF from String of Letters.

For the Happiest of Birthdays card, I used images from Birthday Celebration and Anniversary Celebration.

For the Joyful Moments card, I die cut the background panel card with Razzle Dazzle and added the coordinating burst die cuts for a fun textured design. I used the girl with balloons and part of the present image from Birthday Celebration.

For the last card, Celebrate Big!, I used the other part of the present image with the birthday girl and placed the happy birthday banner at an angle.

Lastly, I added Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue to all the tops of the party hats, confetti and flowers for some extra sparkle!

Trading cards are easy and fun to make. Whether you're keeping them for yourself or trading with friends, I hope this has inspired you to create your own trading cards.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mimi
