Basket of Goodies with Mimi
Hi there, it’s Mimi back on the Mama Elephant’s blog. Today I’m sharing a fun project featuring the new Basket of Goodies stamp set. I know Easter is about 2 months away but it’s never too early to start your Easter crafts. The Mama Elephant friends in this set are super cute in their bunny outfits and they are perfect to make some mini Easter baskets and mini place cards with. Let’s begin….
Before I start, I had to decide what color baskets I wanted because I needed some same colored cardstock to match. I chose baby blue, coral and lavender. I stamped, colored the baskets with the same colors of the colored cardstock and die cut the images. For every basket, I needed 2 stamped basket images colored with the same color, one for the front of the basket and one for the back. So I had two baby blue, two coral and two lavender baskets. I also stamped, colored and die cut the Mama Elephant friends for each basket.
I made a square open box measuring 1 3/4” x 1 3/4” from the 3 colored cardstock. The stamped basket image wasn’t very sturdy so I used the basket Creative Cuts and die cut two baskets from each colored cardstock. I glued the colored cardstock basket to the matching stamped baskets. I then adhered one image to the front of the box and one to the back to create a mini basket. I glued the Mama Elephant friends to the front of basket as well. I added some green paper grass and placed several egg candies inside.
Next, I made the mini place cards to go with the mini baskets.
I used the scalloped rectangle from the new Classic Card Quads Creative Cuts. I folded it in half. I added the flowers and hamster bunny from Basket of Goodies and the chocolate bunny/candies from May Your Days set. I die cut HAPPY EASTER from the Spring Banner Creative Cuts with the same three colored cardstock.
These mini baskets and place cards are perfect for Spring favors and/or for an Easter table setting. This basket is not only great for Spring, but it can be used for all occasions. I hope this inspires you to create your own mini baskets!
